Script Frenzy

I’m in the mood for trying something new, so I signed up for this year’s Script Frenzy (http://www.scriptfrenzy.org/). I’ve never written a screenplay before but it seems like fun. I’ll be basing my script on one of my manuscripts as a way to approach the story from a different angle. I guess I have until April 1st to learn the basics of script writing.

A quick note: I recently passed the 10,000 word mark on my latest manuscript. I’m feeling good about this story.

Thanks! I actually started this project based on an idea I had, but it felt incomplete. I thought I’d write it down just to see where it went, and it ended up going places I never dreamed of. I’m hoping to get a full novel out of it.

Isn’t it funny how that works? Stephen King described writing as uncovering a fossil. It never ceases to amaze me what happens sometimes when you just start writing. Have fun digging out the story πŸ™‚

I’ve always loved that analogy. It really is like that for me, but I usually have a pretty good concept of certain aspects of the story, and it’s just a matter of uncovering the finer details. With this one I just dove in head-first to see what I could find, and I really like it so far πŸ˜€
